Auditions for Blood Rites<\/strong>, a horror suspense feature written by Chad Haufschild and directed by Dorothy Booraem, will be held in Omaha and Lincoln during March. The Omaha audition will be held on Saturday, March 6th at the Nebraska Film Group studio (1904 Farnam Street) from 11:30 pm to 5:30 pm. Lincoln auditions will be held on Sunday, March 7th at the Turbine Flats building (2124 Y st) from 11:30 to 5 pm. Continue reading for character profiles and audition sides.<\/p>\n

Heavily influenced by Giallo, a genre of Italian horror popularized in the late 60\u2019s and 70\u2019s by masters like Dario Argento and Lucio Fulci, Blood Rites<\/strong> is a macabre mystery of murder, drug use and the occult. A drug deal has gone horribly wrong. Nicky, a young woman on the wrong side of the law, finds herself trapped in a secluded warehouse with a sociopathic ex-soldier, a violently unstable drug user, a dying gunshot victim and a handful of religious zealots. Something unnatural is happening. A demon wants to be born and that can only happen with a sacrifice of blood.<\/p>\n

Blood Rites<\/strong> is a horror\/suspense feature that will be shot in HD in Lincoln, NE. The final product will be sent to festivals and seek distribution.<\/p>\n

Production will take place on weekends through April and May (starting the weekend of 10 April). It’s very important that we know of any conflicts actors may have with that schedule.<\/p>\n

Blood Rites<\/strong> is auditioning for the featured roles listed below. Sides (short pieces of the script used during an audition) are available for download below.
