UE Produces “Wake the Witch” Horror Feature

Wake the Witch, psychological horror/suspense feature, will be shot over the months of September, October and November 2008. Post production will take place December through February 2009. Wake the Witch has been designed from its conception as a straight-to-DVD release. UE’s goal is to use this and future productions to build a body of work and establish a foothold in the home entertainment market.

Inspired by the masters of Japanese horror, Wake the Witch is a ninety-minute psychological horror/suspense feature about three friends who unwittingly release the vengeful spirit of a witch from her resting place in Wilderness Park. As the spirit’s influence over the city grows, the friends search for answers begins. But each answer only raises more questions as the power they unleashed reveals a truth beyond their imagination.

Technical Overview:
Wake the Witch will be shot in High Definition digital video on a JVC GY-HD250 camera in 24p progressive emulating the look of 16mm film. Our camera package also includes a Steadicam, dolly and track, and a jib to allow for advanced camera movement. The shooting package also includes an assortment of professional sound and lighting equipment to ensure the highest possible production value at a limited budget.

Marketing and Distribution Plans:
Web marketing has already begun and will continue on a regular basis throughout the production process. Upon completion Wake the Witch will be sent to the 2009 New York Horror Film Festival (“America’s largest and most recognized genre film festival focusing solely on Horror and Science Fiction” www.nychorrorfest.com) and will seek straight to DVD an VOD distribution.
